AMARANTHUS SPINOSUS




Amaranthus Spinosus, also called pigweeds comprise the genus amaranthus, a widely distributed genus of short lives, occurring mostly in temperate and tropical regions. Amaranthus greens, also called Chinese spinach, hinn choy or yin tsoi. Chinese have been using this herb for centuries as remedy for profuse menstruation.
They are also a very good source of vitamins,including Vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, foliate, dietary fiber, and dietary minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper and manganese. The power leaves yield tannin, some including sugar and resin but no alkaloid.
